[] I don't want the town to add anything that will draw outside visitors. We chose to live in this town because it's rural and remote. If we wanted a ton of facilities, we'd live in Menlo Park or Palo Alto. What makes it special is the quiet, uncrowded feel and its beautiful surroundings. 09/16/2016

[] Love the redwood groves, especially the one between the playing field and "town hall" building at the back of town center. A redwood grove with picnic table near by provides peace and quiet for a private gathering, or a place to get away from the demands of life. 09/16/2016

Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Historic Schoolhouse, Little People’s Park, Overall focus on sustainability, The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market, Town Center architecture, Town Government We like the diverse uses of the Town Center, making it truly a center of activities for the town. Although we have not checked aspects that we don not personally use, we are glad they are there for those who do. 08/18/2016

Personally my favorite amenity is the soccer pitch. 08/20/2016

Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Sports Facilities , The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market We need a dog park..every morning there are between 10-25 dogs running on the baseball field. It is an unsecured area and one day there will be dogs running out onto busy portola road. Someone will lose their dog in traffic. You have designated the basketball court for a skate park which is seldom used but nothing for the many dog owners of PV 08/20/2016

[] One of the primary catalysts of social interaction is food and coffee. Portola valley has a dearth of cafes, restaurants, and places where you can meet up with people casually. The Ladera area has the tiny strip mall but Konditorie closes very early. And Ladera is quite far from Porto;a Valley Ranch. We have recently moved into Portola Valley and even though we know plenty of people who live here, we feel somewhat isolated because the afordances that drive low-threshold casual social interaction are a little too sparse. The term "Let's meet up for coffee" seems to imply driving to another town at which point it is no longer casual. Consequently we land up meeting people in towns who have their own cafes, rather than the people who live in our own town. 09/06/2016

Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Little People’s Park, Overall focus on sustainability, Picnic Spaces, Sausal Creek, Sports Facilities , The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market, Town Center architecture It would be great to have more native flowering plants distributed and placards about the species names and natural uses. This may be asking too much but having a place for children to fish locally and safely would be a great use. The amount/size of holding water needed wouldn't need to be large. Just enough for children to experience the natural cycles of water and the life held within beyond a creek that drys up. This wouldn't be hard to do. Providing better and more inviting access to the Redwood circle behind the main building would be nice and a relief for parents who need to be able to see a child in the distance while at the picnic area for example. More play area built into the hard surfaces at the town buildings to encourage uses by children or adults. A path leading into the meadows/orchards behind the main buildings to allow safe and inviting exploring into those areas could also be useful. Bird habitats distributed around to show and provide refuge for the various birds of prey and birds around PV. Thanks, George 08/23/2016
[u'163', u'157', u'164', u'155', u'159', u'156'] Springdown Open Space - this native meadow provides valuable breathing space and natural setting for the buildings and facilities. Love the paths mowed through it in the spring. Keep it OPEN! Don't build anything here. Rescue that sad fenced-in pond out there. Open access to the creek here also. Town Center plantings - native and low water use. Great example of what we should all be doing. 08/23/2016

Little People’s Park, Performance Lawn, Picnic Spaces, Sports Facilities , The Library, Town Government Town Center strikes a very nice compromise between family, sports, community, and nature lovers. The fields flow well and provide an environment for two age groups to "play" in two areas and keep on eye on each other, ie., kids on soccer and parents on softball. 09/18/2016

I find that VERY frustrating. We should be encouraging and supporting our local youth business and local vendors. I don't know who is in charge of managing her but everything else about the town center and farmer's market is great, she is not. 09/09/2016
Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Historic Schoolhouse, Overall focus on sustainability, Performance Lawn, Sausal Creek, Sports Facilities , The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market, Town Center architecture, Town Government Love all of it. I think the campus works brilliantly. Love to see yearly community wildflower seed scattering. I love the garden share, love walking my dogs at Springdown. I think there is a danger to junking it up with more tables, trash cans, art work etc. the simplicity of the architecture reflects the simple, rustic energy of the town, beware of becoming kitschy. More stuff won't necessarily make it better. It is a peaceful fun place to gather 09/09/2016
Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Historic Schoolhouse, Little People’s Park, Sports Facilities , The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market since so many dogs usse the area seems like we could have a small dog park, see the one at san antonio and el camino behind shoppimg center small, clean, fenced 09/16/2016
Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Little People’s Park, Performance Lawn, Picnic Spaces, The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market, Town Center architecture The best aspects of Town Center are those that bring together the Community as a whole, rather than a small subset. So, while athletic facilities/fields are important, they are not as critical as picnic areas, the playground, the performance lawn, and the library. 09/09/2016

[] I would very much like to see a very large fenced areas where dogs could run freely (off-lead) I know there are a number of issues with the area now called Springdown Open Space but if it were fenced properly that could a great location. Would it be possible to have stakeholders fund a fence that would actually be situated away from the creek, on current Springdown Property? 09/18/2016
Sausal Creek I heard there is a plan to "daylight" the creek. I have not found that written in these plans but I am concerned about where it will be. It seems there is no way to daylight the creek without cutting into the softball, soccer or playground. All of which would be bad. Also having more creek means more water risk with children. This all needs to be clarified and explained to residents. Thank you. 09/20/2016
Horseshoe Pit, Little People’s Park, Overall focus on sustainability, Performance Lawn, Picnic Spaces, Sausal Creek, Sports Facilities , The Library, Town Center architecture Leave town center as it is. Please do not "daylight" any more of the creek! We have a great balance between natural space and maintained space! 09/20/2016
Performance Lawn, Picnic Spaces, Sports Facilities , Thursday Farmers’ Market The current design is great and should not be changed. 09/18/2016
Picnic Spaces, Sausal Creek, Sports Facilities , The Library, Town Center architecture Tennis courts are much appreciated for residents not having private courts. The plan done when the Town Center was rebuilt a decade or more ago considered pretty much all of these issues. It is still very relaevant and has withstood the test of time. Good job! So minimal changes please, especially in the area of Sausal Creek, which continues to have been very well done. 09/20/2016

Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Historic Schoolhouse, Performance Lawn, The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market, Town Center architecture, Town Government I enjoy open air events on the lawn. A bocce court might be an idea. I like the idea of putting a par course on a trail somewhere - there used to be one at PV Ranch that was sadly neglected. It would be nice if the community center had black out blinds so you could see presentations more clearly and they could keep it warm on cold nights. A separate gym building might be useful. It would be nice to clear the plants out of the creek - it has become overgrown - I don't see a need to daylight any more of it. It would be fun to work with Christ Church on having an annual carillon concert as carillons are quite rare and historically even when a church has owned a carillon the town has supported it. We could also have special tunes for special days if the controller were updated. 09/16/2016

Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Historic Schoolhouse, Horseshoe Pit, Little People’s Park, Overall focus on sustainability, Performance Lawn, Picnic Spaces, Sausal Creek, Sports Facilities , The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market, Town Center architecture, Town Government I believe we are a very well balanced community. If i had one critique, I would emphasize more casual spots, more tables and benches for meeting and chatting ....needed for young parents and seniors.... 09/16/2016
Town Government Focus should be on sustainability. We could do a better job maintaining the existing soccer fields and tennis courts. The soccer fields are in poor condition right now and will cause ankle injuries. The nets at the tennis courts need repair. Unfortunately people are leaving their trash and recycle behind so I would like to suggest a sign to remind people to be responsible. I know people outside PV come to our wonderful library. Usually easy to park People love our Farmer's market. I hope our town government will uphold the original mission statements and the rural aspect of our Town. We are very unique and I hope we can keep it this way. 09/16/2016
Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Overall focus on sustainability, Sausal Creek, The Library, Town Center architecture It is a pleasure just to stroll through the area. Enjoy watching the children enjoy the creek. Have used the tennis courts and I am a regular user of the library. Hadn't known that there is a garden featuring native plants. Will have to check it out. Our youngest grandchild has enjoyed the children's play area. 09/20/2016
Overall focus on sustainability, Sports Facilities , The Library, Town Center architecture The softball field is where I send my time socializing with friends from the past 20 years. Please do not do ANYTHING to this field, ever! Unless you want to get rid of gofer holes! The soccer field is not the nicest and certainly the town NEEDS a turf field. Current us residents have to drive to other turf fields in the winter to play games and practices which is NOT ideal. I have read both the pros and cons of turf and still agree with turf fields. 09/18/2016
Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Sports Facilities , The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market Playing in both the Adult soccer and Adult co-ed softball leagues, I cannot say enough good things about Town Center. Horseshoe Pit, Performance Lawn, Sports Facilities , The Library, Town Center architecture The Town Center is a beautiful setting. Thousands of people come to the Town Center to use the soccer and baseball fields and enjoy participating in outdoor activities with others in a beautiful environment. I love the view through the soccer field up in to the orchards now that the trees were taken down that were blocking the view. The rural architecture is also beautiful. The library came out really well. 09/09/2016

Horseshoe Pit, Performance Lawn, Sports Facilities , The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market, Town Center architecture Why are we "re-imagining and reinventing" a $20 million dollar space that is less than 10 years old? It is a beautiful space designed with much input from residents at numerous design charettes and public meetings. Please do not change it and more importantly, do not spend taxpayer money on a redesign. 09/17/2016

Sports Facilities , The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market Love the Town Center in it's current form. I'm a frequent user of the library, the sports fields, and the Farmer's Market. All are great community facilitators! I've heard there is consideration of spending lots of money ($1M+) making changes. Makes no sense to me. If anything, let's invest in maintaining our beautiful facilities as they are. 09/18/2016
Diverse programming (classes, concerts etc.), Little People’s Park, Performance Lawn, Picnic Spaces, Sausal Creek, Sports Facilities , The Library, Thursday Farmers’ Market PLEASE DO NOT daylight more of the creek. We gather at Town Center several times a week and appreciate the habitat that the currently daylighted creek provides. We love the playground, library, and fields. We are great supporters of the environment, and implore you, please leave the rest of the creek underground so that our children & friends can play on the soccer & softball fields. They are small. We can't afford to lose more space. There is already a beautiful balance between recreation & natural habitat. 09/20/2016
